Gareth’s pick # 9: Schalk Burger

I don’t really need to say to much about this selection. Burger is a freak talent and i’m elated to have him in my side.

Anyone keen to go fiddling in the ruck with Hayman, Bakkies, Schalk and Collins on the loose?

I thought not.

    5. Vickerman/O’ Callaghan (either will complement bakkies well)
    8. Tuili’i (most impresive no.8 in the world of late)
    9. Peter Stringer ( you can’t go wrong with a man like this to get that tough pack working and keeping the ball in front of your guys. biggest heart i know)
    12. Mauger! (class act and carter needs him)
    OR!
    12. D’arcy! (o’ driscoll needs him and he’s tough as nails with good running angles)
    14. Cedric Heymans (he knows his way to the try line, good pace and excellent support play)
    15. Montgomery (the coolest, safest guy needs to be at the back and the old timerr has picked up some fight and courage in the back-end of his career)

    9. Agustin Pichot would be a much better selection than stringer
    12. Luke Mcalister better than Aaron Mauger
    14. THE ROCKETMAN

dave picked chabal so im sure you could find quite a few better no8’s than tuiali’i, ryan jones from wales would be my 1st pick

either vickerman or ali williams at at 5.
would go with spies at 8. you’ve got a very confrontational pack, could use a little pace and flare to link with backs. i also think that tuialií is underrated and had a awesome super 14.
you are definately shaping up a killer pack of forwards!

Yeah these forwards are incredible… Mauger at 12 definitely! 8th man and fullback is where you will struggle… I would go with MacDonald (or Muliaina) at the back…

Gareth and Dave, this little competition is certainly gaining steam now, and both teams look very impressive. Imagine these two teams (when completed) actually playing each other. Wow! It will be the same as the NFL’s pro bowl and the biggest rugby union event in a long time.

Ja Wicus (with a c!) this compo is picking up nicely… It’s going to be very interesting to see who the public vote for!

    Jislaaik…
