Dave’s pick # 13: Andrew Sheridan

The biggest blow to France’s chances of winning the World Cup in front of their home crowd is the lose of prop Sylvain Marconnet. I wanted him badly. I even waited until the very last moment to select my frontrow - hoping that he would return to fitness in time. It wasn’t to be.

In truth, I’m battling to find a tighthead. In my opinion, Carl Hayman is some way ahead of the alternatives in the number 3 jersey, and that thing - Rosslee - already has him!

Andy Sheridan is a big unit and powerful at set pieces. He’s the next best thing at loosehead.

Ja - I’m obviously like of big Piet in the tight role, but I’m worried that he may be passed his sell by a little…any other ideas anyone?

Has to be de Villiers, the next best alternative is BJ or CJ. Unless I’m forgetting somebody… I Tom Smith from Scotland still playing? Or maybe theres some argentinian or Islander I havn’t heard of…
